Irene Laws
Irene Laws is an Atlanta native who earned her bachelor’s degree in social science, with a minor in political science, from Stetson University. She brings her community support experience from her work at Lifeline Animal Project as she works within the community to offer current students and graduates access to opportunities to achieve lasting success post-incarceration and avoid recidivism.
She believes in the power of people and collective action as she formerly worked with the Project On Government Oversight working to empower and mobilize people to take action for a better democracy. In her role as outreach specialist, she educates potential employers about the benefits of hiring from our talented pool of graduates, directly assisting with job referrals. In addition, she networks and connects with potential partners and sponsors inside and outside of correctional institutions to promote the REfire program and advocate for second chances and ways to get involved.
